How to choose where to study abroad
Work through these four questions in order. Each one removes countries from your list, and the answers for every destination above are on its own page, with the tuition, living costs, work rights, visa steps and scholarships spelled out.
- 1
Is your course taught in English?
Most destinations teach master's programmes in English; bachelor's degrees in Germany, France, Spain and Italy are often in the local language. Filter that out first, before cost.
- 2
What does year one really cost?
Add tuition and living costs, not tuition alone. Tuition runs from near-zero at public universities in parts of Europe to USD 40,000 at private US universities; living costs add roughly USD 6,000-15,000 a year.
- 3
Can you work while you study?
Ireland, the UK, Canada, Australia and most of Europe allow about 20 hours a week during term. India does not allow off-campus work at all. If part-time earnings are part of your plan, this decides the shortlist.
- 4
How long can you stay after you graduate?
Stay-back ranges from two years (Ireland, the UK) to three (Canada, Australia for some degrees) to none at all. This is usually the difference between a degree that pays for itself and one that does not.
Shortlist two or three, then apply. Applying through Admission Bravo is free: you upload your documents once and the platform tracks each application through offer, acceptance and student visa, with no agent fee and no commission added to your tuition.
